Energy Club Officers
Jeff grew up near Santa Fe, NM and obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico. His Ph.D. work with Dr. Max Zhang in Cornell's Energy and the Environment Research Lab focuses on assessing the energy system and air quality impacts associated with implementing the Clean Energy Standard in New York. He’s particularly interested in the intersection between engineering and energy policy.
Vice President & Treasurer
Sai is from Allentown, PA and is currently a junior in Chemical Engineering. Sai is on the project team Engineers for a Sustainable World: Biofuels, where he collaborates with the Tester Research Group on hydrothermal processing of wet organic wastes and is working on projects such as developing and designing a biodiesel reactor.
Prayag hails from Rourkela, India and received his bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He is currently a Ph.D. student in Archer research group in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering department at Cornell. His current research focuses on understanding the interphases of the electrochemical energy storage cells. Prayag enjoys playing all kinds of outdoor sports.
Jen is a junior majoring in Operations Research and Informations Engineering at Cornell. She has lived 11 years in Seoul, Korea, 9 years in Irvine, CA, and 2+ years in Ithaca, NY. Jen is passionate about the energy industry and entrepreneurship. Besides the Energy Club, she is a Kessler Fellow, podcaster at State of the Pod and a founder of MindSight. In her free time, Jen loves exercising and playing the violin with her trio, Yam Trio.

Avinash is from Chennai, India and received his bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Anna University. He is a current M.S student in the Joo Research Group in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department at Cornell. His current research focus is on studying the effects of binder for directly deposited silicon/graphene hybrid anodes for Li-ion batteries.
Director of Strategic Development and Marketing
Zoe is from Gig Harbor, WA and received her B.S. in Mathematics and Materials Science from Western Washington University. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Cornell’s Engineering Materials for Energy and the Environment Lab led by Dr. Jillian Goldfarb. Her research focuses on the development of environmentally conscious fabrication techniques for porous materials used in water and air filtrations.
Director of Social Media
Niki is from Corning, NY and is currently a sophomore majoring in Operations Research in Engineering, and minoring in both Environmental Engineering and Business. She is on the Bioenergy Implementation subteam of Engineers for a Sustainable World: Biofuels. Her current research in the Richardson Lab Group is focused on using machine learning to assess water quality.
Energy Day Planning Committee
Yue is from Nanjing, China, and received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering with double minors in Materials Science and Economics from the University of California, Davis. She is currently a 2nd year Ph.D. student in Dr. Lynden Archer's research group in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering department at Cornell. Her current research focuses on studying the electrochemical deposition of active metals and the reactions that happen at the anode-electrolyte interface.
Solar District Cup Team Lead
Hannah is from Chicago, IL and is currently a junior studying Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Sustainable Energy Systems. She is the solar sub-team lead for the CU Solar Boat student project team and also works as an undergraduate research assistant with the Thompson Group, using laser spike annealing to improve solar cell passivation and manufacturing processes. Hannah is particularly interested in accelerating renewable energy innovation and implementation.
Director of Alumni Relations
Nick is from Newport, VT and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. He is currently a Ph.D. student in Dr. Perrine Pepiot’s Research Group focused on implementing large-scale numerical simulations of chemically reacting flows. His current research interests are geared towards aiding in the design and optimization of bio-energy production technologies.
